Some of the Kinky Talks are more geared toward the gay amongst us. But I feel this is one that needs to be seen by all of us.
Even tho amongst trans-people and gay men, there is a much bigger chance to commit suicide out of depression, out of not feeling to belong. Personally and in my clientele I have heard of the traumatising and deteriorating effects of being cast out.
I think it is important to know this, absolutely not wanting to claim or pinkwash this, but actually, I think for the vanilla heteros amongst us too, it is a good thing to understand what it means to be cast out. So please have a look!
I do think that even in our open-minded kinky and sex-positive scene, suicidal thoughts are a taboo… and I think that this is a good taboo to break!
So maybe have a look at the notes of this Kinky Talk 43, and/or have a look at the youtube about Henk Brurger’s “Out of Life” (Uit ‘t Leven), my own presentation about reasons behind and things to say about being cast out and suicide, and Jon Stockton’s spontaneous gay ideas to help break this taboo.
Hopefully, this helps to save lives…
Maybe this relates to you too…
